What is the UN Global Compact?
In a nutshell, the UN Global Compact is part of the United Nation’s mission to unite business as a force for good. As the UN Global Compact website states, it is a ‘call to companies to align strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and take actions that advance societal goals.’
Their vision is to mobilise a global movement of sustainable companies to help create ‘the world we want’. The achieve this, the UN Global Compact supports businesses across the globe to:
Undertake business responsibly so that their operations and strategies are aligned with principles on human rights, labour, environment and climate, and anti-corruption
Take positive action to advance societal goals (e.g. the UN Sustainable Development Goals), in particular, collaboration and innovation
So far, no less than 13,500 businesses worldwide have joined the UN Global Compact. So by adhering to this commitment to a sustainable corporate policy Exterior Plas are in very good company.
