Exterior Plas manufactures and installs windows and doors for commercial properties across London and the South East, working with facilities managers and main contractors as well as building owners who come to us directly. We’re a family run company, founded in 1988 by Andy Sheen. Our factory and showroom are in Thornwood, near Epping in Essex.
You’ll deal with us from the first measurements through to handover, and if something needs attention later, our own maintenance engineers can pick it up, so you won’t have to find and brief another contractor or chase extra people on a busy site. One team, start to finish.
We supply and fit the windows and doors a working building needs, whether that’s a single failing floor of an office or a full elevation on a larger block. Offices and shops fall within that, as do mixed use blocks.
Jobs usually take 2 shapes. Some are full replacements, where tired frames come out across a whole elevation and new made to measure units, fabricated in our own factory, go in. Others are smaller packages, such as a run of entrance doors or one floor of windows that’s started to fail, and we’ll price either. The method doesn’t change. We measure and fabricate, then our own teams install.
In house manufacture gives us direct control over quality and timing. Our factory in Thornwood covers around 15,000 sq ft and runs CNC machinery for cutting and machining profiles, and for uPVC work we fabricate REHAU systems.
Dates matter on commercial jobs. Contractors need frames on site while the scaffold’s still up, and building owners don’t want an office left half glazed for weeks while someone chases a late delivery. Because production happens under our own roof, we can plan fabrication around your programme and check every unit before it leaves the factory, and if a remake’s needed we turn it round ourselves rather than waiting on an outside supplier. Nobody else to chase.
Each material has its place. Offices and rented commercial units where low upkeep matters are well suited to uPVC. Once it’s in, it needs very little looking after. Aluminium gives slim sightlines and larger glazed areas. That’s why it’s often chosen for shopfronts and modern office entrances. Timber tends to come in where a building’s character or setting calls for it, including heritage styles that sit comfortably alongside older properties on established streets.
The full range is on our windows and doors pages, running from heritage windows and secondary glazing through to composite and bi-fold doors. Some buildings also need fire rated doors or windows, which our fire products range covers, and we’ll handle them in the same enquiry and the same quote so you aren’t left managing a separate conversation with another supplier halfway through the job.
We plan around how your site runs. Occupied buildings need extra care, which means agreeing access times, phasing the work floor by floor or elevation by elevation, and keeping entrances usable while the job’s underway so staff and customers can still get in. You’ll speak directly with the people planning production and installation. That helps when a programme shifts. From Thornwood, we’re well placed for sites across the capital and the wider South East.
Faults after handover don’t land with a stranger. Our reactive maintenance department has handled window and door repairs since 2007, and it grew out of the manufacturing and installation work we’ve been doing since 1988. You can report sticking doors, worn hinges, blown units or draughty windows to us, and engineers who already know the products will put them right.
Send us drawings or a schedule of the windows and doors you’d like replaced, or a few photos, and we’ll come back to you with next steps. Call 01992 578 903 or email enquiries@exteriorplas.com for a free quote. You can also use our contact page. We’re open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Showroom visitors are welcome.

Yes, we do. Our factory and showroom are on Weald Hall Lane in Thornwood, Epping, and from there we cover commercial glazing across London, Essex and the South East.
Usually, and most commercial work is done that way. We phase the installation and agree access with your facilities team, and before work starts we’ll talk you through the sequence so staff and visitors know what to expect.
It depends on the building, its use and any planning constraints. We’ll recommend options once we’ve seen the site and your specification.
Yes, through our fire products range. That covers fire doors and fire rated windows, offered as a separate service. They’re often needed alongside standard windows and doors on commercial jobs, so mention them when you first get in touch and we’ll include the relevant products in the same quote.
